When I started watching your videos a year ago about the French Revolution, I had no idea what I was getting into.  I watched them because a friend of mine posted how awesome hilarious they would be for Decathletes who had been through a certain year.  I loved them of course.  And naturally I started finding more and more of your videos more and more interesting.   And that has started a completely new chapter in my life.

Literally my biggest accomplishments would be nothing if I had never seen one of your videos.  You inspired me to video blog and to write and for you, I have basically my entire future to look forward to.   It’s kind of awesome.

You will be one of the three men who shares the first acknowledgments in my book, along side the boy who lived and the boy i love whose distance from me means little.  You are in this category because you have done something for me that no one else has.  So thank you  for every gift you have given me.  If only I could be so fortunate as to give you a gift, but I’m broke and we don’t technically know each other.   So I’ll settle for this letter.  Know that every single book you wrote has informed my opinion and shaped my life in some way.

Thank you for teaching me that I am not my illness and that there are more things to look forward to.  Thank you for helping me with your words when I got out of an abusive situation.  Thank you for making me cry.  Thank you for making me laugh.  Thank you for making me think. Thank you for being the light I needed to find myself.  Thank you for the ability to birth three first drafts of original novels. Thank you for all your love.
